Doctors And Nurses Desperately Needed (posted 2/4/10) Here is something pretty exceptional! CARE is making flights from Raleigh-Durham to the city of Cap-Haïtien in Haiti for weekend volunteer work at the Cap-Haïtien Hospital. The hospital was not damaged in the earthquake. There is no fee for the flight. Doctors and nurses are desperately needed and they can give of their valuable time through this program for just a weekend. In order to volunteer, they need a valid passport. Transportation from the airfield to the hospital is provided. Flights will occur on an as-needed basis according to the number of people flying. This is a wonderful way for local doctors and nurses to contribute time and possibly a way to send more goods to those in medical need, quickly. If you know doctors and nurses who would like to volunteer, please contact Patrick Tormey (919/394-6055 or pattormey@yahoo.com).
